Committed to STEM education in NRW

Do you work as a teacher at a school in NRW? Are you always looking for new ways to bring STEM topics to young people outside of the classroom? Are you implementing your own projects or are you looking for partners for networking in NRW? Do you want to accompany and support your students in their career orientation and in making a well-founded decision for an apprenticeship or study?

Then you've come to the right place at zdi.NRW! zdi.NRW offers a wide range of exciting MINT-related activities from pre-school age through to graduation.

zdi offers for students

At zdi.NRW, young people can try MINT in practice: for example in courses, workshops or projects in which they learn to program, implement their own research projects, work with 3D printers, work in technical workshops, solder, mill, and and and. Many partner companies offer school classes exclusive insights behind the scenes of everyday work in technical companies during company tours. More than 70 zdi student laboratories enable your students to gain practical laboratory experience and offer courses tailored to the curricula.

In each region, the local zdi contacts regularly organize a varied program with courses, workshops and campaigns. In many cases it is possible to register as a school class or course.

All offers from the zdi networks and school labs can be found at mint-community.de

Events for your students:

zdi robot competition

At the zdi robot competition you can enter two categories with your classmates and your self-programmed robots “Ranges" and "Performance” and two age groups: elementary school and high school, compete against each other in local and regional competitions. At the end there will be a grand NRW finale. Each year has a new motto. More information on the STEM community.

Science Video Awards

Are you passionate about science and videos? Send us your self-made videos about MINT and win great prizes. Every year, the Science Video Award 2021 awards great prizes such as a day of shooting with science YouTubers. You can get all current information here. More information on the STEM community.

Youth Science Camp

A YouthScienceCamp is a special event format to promote the participation of young people in the STEM field. What counts here: Join the discussion and get rid of opinions! Can technology, physics & co. make the world a better place? Can superpowers be calculated? What experiences have you had with exciting research projects? At the YouthScienceCamp, young people have the opportunity to share their projects and experiences and to exchange ideas outside of normal school life.

zdi Science League

The first Science League season in NRW will start in January 2023. In this league, teams compete for an annual task from the STEM field. The task is divided into different game days, on which points are collected. The submissions will be evaluated by a jury and of course the winners will receive attractive prizes! The task of the pilot season deals with the topic of "in-house farming" or urban production.
