Sustainable energy management

Geothermal energy, solar energy, wind power or biomass - these fuels should fuel the energy industry in North Rhine-Westphalia in the future. This requires the use of modern technology and this technology needs to be invented, understood, used and further developed - by today's skilled workers and tomorrow's skilled workers. zdi.NRW brings both of them together in courses and at events and creates awareness through campaigns.

Many different people stand, sit, play and work in front of an urban background with lots of solar panels and wind turbines. The picture symbolizes sustainable energy management.

Science League

In the Science League, teams from all over North Rhine-Westphalia compete for an annual task from the STEM field. The annual task is divided into different game days, on which points are collected. The submissions will be evaluated by a jury and of course the winners will receive attractive prizes! The first season deals with the topic: "In-house farming" or "urban production"

robot competition

"Power Up - Don't Be a Fossil!" is the motto of this year's robot competition. The competition has been an integral part of zdi.NRW since 2006. The participants get a low-threshold and playful access to computer science as well as to interesting professions and courses in this field. The annually changing tasks are always related to the major social challenges of our time - in 2023, this is also about sustainable energy management.
