The zdi networks are again offering countless MINT courses during the summer holidays this year. Most can take place in person again, but there are also digital offers. This year's zdi motto RE•use | RE•duce | RE•cycle – make new from old can be found in many of the courses.
What actually is a smart recycling factory? Why are the stars shining? And how do I program a microcontroller? Pupils can discover this and much more during the summer holidays in the zdi holiday program. On the STEM community platform there is a wide range of holiday programs, from workshops lasting several days to projects for a morning or afternoon. Registration is easy via the MINT community platform.
The Smart Recycling Factory
The Smart Recycling Factory takes place throughout the summer holidays and is aimed at grades seven to thirteen. In the OpenEcoLab in Rahden, a lot can be discovered under the guidance of zdi lecturers: How do you gain valuable raw materials from plastic waste? Which plants are edible and how can they be grown outside the ground? What is the best way to use solar energy? Sustainable ideas for a green future are in demand and can be developed in varied group activities.

Mobile App Development I

Online courses are also part of the zdi holiday courses this year. In the three-day course zdi network district of Warendorf Pupils in grades seven to thirteen can design their own app. The course, which is suitable for beginners, teaches various methods and how to use the AppSheet platform. The advanced course takes place in the following week.

Get creative with your own clips and videos
After the summer holidays, there are two video competitions in which self-made videos are submitted and awarded. So why not use the holiday season to get creative with a camera in hand?
Science Video Awards 2022
At this year's Science Video Awards films are presented in four categories. Here, too, it is about sustainability and environmental protection in the category “RE•use | RE•duce | RE•cycle – make new from old”. The closing date for entries is August 15th. The award ceremony will take place on September 03rd in the DASA in Dortmund instead of. There are prizes to be won with a total value of 1.200 euros. "Picture your MINT!" Science Prize 2022
The "Picture your MINT!" competition Creativity and knowledge transfer are required. It doesn't matter which format - stop motion or daily soap - the main thing is that it's about STEM phenomena that are presented in a technically correct, entertaining and descriptive way. You can win the KITZ.do experiments case, equipped with the best laboratory materials and a Mars rover kit. The closing date for entries is September 02nd, the award ceremony will take place in October.
