MINT-Mach-Day in the zdi network for the education region of Hochsauerlandkreis

On February 24, 2023 it had zdi network education region Hochsauerlandkreis (zdi HSK) Pupils and teachers, parents, companies, schools, vocational colleges and other partners were invited to the MINT-Mach-Day at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences. And with good reason: the zdi network celebrated ten years of sponsorship by the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences.

Regional companies, vocational colleges, chambers of crafts and other partners of the zdi HSK carried out the MINT do-it-yourself activities with schoolchildren at various stations. There were insights into the activities of different professions in the STEM field and numerous opportunities to touch, try out and discover.

State Secretary Gonca Türkeli-Dehnert (Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia) also took the opportunity. She was able to get an impression of various MINT professions at various stations. In her greeting, she thanked the zdi network HSK for the successful work and the successful networking of universities of applied sciences, schools, companies, clubs, associations, the Chamber of Crafts and other partners. She called on the students to take the opportunity to try things out and discover their dream job. Because MINT professions are professions with the best future prospects.

dr Karl Schneider, district administrator of the Hochsauerland district, was impressed by the commitment of the many actors. He emphasized the important work of the zdi network in extracurricular STEM education.

Around 200 students use the morning. In two rounds, they worked on castings, constructed components, erected a pitched roof or built a hydrogen car, among other things. Numerous students also came in the afternoon. In between, the Physikanten thrilled with their science show.
