The European Commission is currently preparing an additional call for Erasmus+, sub-program Strategic Partnerships, in response to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. The specific call for tenders is scheduled for autumn 2020.
Around 200 million euros in funding will be made available for strategic partnerships in the areas of "digital education" (in school, vocational and university education) and "creativity and culture" (in adult and school education as well as in the youth sector).
The maximum project funding is expected to be 300.000 euros per project, with a term of between 12 and 24 months. As a rule, the funding rate is 90 percent.
What is behind the topics?
Focus on “Creativity and Culture”:
The projects are intended to contribute to ensuring that both the young generation and professionals have the skills needed for the recovery of the cultural and creative sectors in the future.
Possible topics are the development of digital skills and applications that support social inclusion through arts and culture. In addition, innovative participatory and intercultural dialogue approaches that connect actors from the education and youth sectors with organizations from the cultural and creative sectors will be promoted.
Focus on "digital education"
In vocational training, the European Commission is focusing on digital education. Projects that develop innovative and open learning methods are conceivable. The use of digital technologies in vocational training is also promoted. Ongoing Erasmus+ vocational training projects have in some cases already found very good ways. For example, with the use of 3D printing technology in vocational schools through to the inclusion of marginalized groups in everyday digital learning.
