The zdi robot competition has been a fixture in North Rhine-Westphalia for more than a decade now. Various schools from all over North Rhine-Westphalia compete against each other in two different disciplines. In 2007, too, zdi.NRW received an award in relation to the topic of "robots".
During the 2006 World Cup, Germany hosted visitors from all over the world. And the country showed itself from its best side: with the ideas of the people who live here. Everyone could experience how German poets and thinkers, researchers and inventors, artists and composers have been making life more comfortable, safer and more beautiful for centuries. The “Germany – Land of Ideas” initiative was launched for this purpose.
What about the location initiative in the year 2006 began, was continued in 2007 due to its great success. "365 places in the land of ideas" is one of the central projects of the initiative. Companies, private organizations and research institutes were invited to show again in 2007 how innovative things are in Germany. 1500 project proposals were examined by a prominent jury, and 365 ideas were selected. On each day of the year, one of these places was officially recognized and presented to the public with an event.
